Modern stoma bags are odor-proof and the smell should not be noticed even when the stool is in the bag.

- If you are worried about gas and smell, avoid foods that strengthen the odor.
- Try taking more food that keeps down the smell.
- You can also try putting deodorizer in your bag.
- There are also supplements you can take orally to lessen the smell.
